John McKenna, author of the much-respected Bridgestone Guides to food and accommodation in Ireland, is to visit the Clonakilty Market to launch the recent Bord Bia award for ‘Good Practise for Farmers Markets’. The award recognises the support of local grown/prepared food in markets, as well as compliance with food safety/labelling rules and criteria on good governance. On Friday, April 9th McKenna will give a talk about the importance of market culture in Ireland. Clonakilty Market will also celebrate its one-year anniversary on that day. All are welcome.
