Clonakilty Macra notes from 28-11-09
Two teams from Clonakilty took part in the County Quarter finals of the Novice Debating competition at the Viaduct Inn last Friday night. Those involved were Padraig Griffin, Keith Buttimer, Aidan O’Driscoll, Noel Crowley, John Applbe and Declan McCarthy. Although neither of the teams made it through to the next round, a great night was had by both those who attended and those who participated.
The weekly soccer nights have commenced once again for the winter. They will be taking place on Monday nights from 9.30pm in Darrara Agricultural College and all are welcome to attend. The soccer competition is to be held this Sunday in Dunmanway. Two teams from Clonakilty are due to take part. Clonakilty A has been drawn in a league including Innishannon B and Dunmanway while Clonakilty B has been drawn against Ballinadee B and Innishannon A.
Ballyhoura Macra are holding a race night in aid of the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind this Friday November 27th in Auntie Mae’s pub in Mitchelstown at 9:30pm. All support would be greatly appreciated.
