10-year-old boy who drowned in Carlingford is named

The young boy who drowned at his home in Carlingford yesterday has been named as Joshua (Joshie) Hill.

Emergency services were called to the home of the 10-year-old at Mountain Park yesterday morning after he got into difficulty in a hot tub.

Paramedics rushed him to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda but he was pronounced dead on arrival. The incident is being treated as a tragic accident.

Joshie’s memory will be cherished forever by his heartbroken parents Olivia and Peter, best friend and brother Oliver, adoring grandparents Marie and John Mackin and Christopher and Sandy Hill, uncles and aunts Andrew and Linda, Davinia and Damien, Darren and Ceire, John and Rheea, Charlotte and Lee, special cousins Chelsie, Amy, Clare, Sarah, Darah, Dillon, Alex and Uma, doting aunt Bridie and close family and friends.

Funeral Mass takes place this Saturday morning at 11am in St Michael’s Church, Carlingford followed by burial in St Michael’s Cemetery, Carlingford.
