Plans for 257 new homes in Haynestown remain a possibility.
Groveview Builders have been given the go ahead by Louth County Council for a further extension of the planning permission they first received for the proposed development following a planning appeal in 2010.
Due to the downturn the homes were never built but permission for them was extended in 2015 with a further submission now granted to extend the time which the developers have to build the houses.
The 257 dwellings would comprise of 61 two bed two storey dwellings (Type A), 100 three bed two storey dwellings (Type B), 62 three bed two storey dwellings (Type C), 34 four bed two storey dwellings (Type E with optional 4 bedroom, 2 storey dwelling without ground floor extension, house type D) all contained in 56 semi-detached blocks, six three unit terraced blocks, 26 four unit terraced blocks, 1 three unit terraced block and 5 four unit terraced blocks.
The application also extends permission for all associated site development works including outfall foul and surface water sewers, landscaping, boundary treatments, open spaces and car parking with relocated vehicular access point provided from new distributor road currently under construction under Reg. Ref. 03/1754 (relocated circa. 1.m north of previously approved location).
The total area of lands the subject of this application is circa 8.11 hectares located to the west of the Dublin Road, south of the Marlbog Road, north of the Clermont Road and east of new distributor road (currently under construction) at Haynestown.
