275 still without power after effects of Storm Ali
Around 275 homeowners and business in the region remain without power this morning following the effects of Storm Ali yesterday.
Thousands were left without power in and around Dundalk as strong gusts brought down power lines across the county.
As of this morning the north of the county is the worst affected with 64 without power in Ravensdale, 16 without power in Upper Ballymakellett and 10 without power in Lower Jenkinstown. All of these 90 customers as well as a further 91 at Rooskey near Carlingford are not expected to have power restored until 8pm tonight.
Twenty customers are also without power in Kilkerley, with restoration not expected until 8pm this evening also.
A further 25 customers on the Marlbog Road in Haggardstown are also without power as well as 10 in Dromiskin, 12 along the old Dublin Road near Dromena and 27 in Castlebellingham and Kilsaran. It will be 8pm also before they have power.
Motorists are also advised to drive with caution as there may still be debris on roads. The Knockbridge to Dundalk Road is blocked at Ballybarrack, close to the Ardee Road junction, and is said to be impassable.
