Ambulance response times in the North East slower this year than last
Ambulance response times are getting slower in the North East and across the country despite by an increase in the number of paramedics.
Figures obtained by Deputy Catherine Murphy and published in today’s Irish Times show response times in seven of the eight ambulance regions in the country were worse between January 1st and April 30th this year compared with the same period of last year.
The HSE has a target of responding to the highest priority 999 calls in under 19 minutes
Just 57% of ambulances in the North East met this target in the first four months of this year. This was a decline from 60% in the same period of this year.
