Blackrock the big winner at Louth Looking Good Awards
Blackrock was once again the big winner at the Louth Looking Good Awards at the Crowne Plaza Hotel last night.
The annual event honours the fine work of individuals and Tidy Towns’ groups in their respective communitiies.
Blackrock took the overall award on the night for the fourth consecutive year.
It was one of several picked up by the village on the night with the local Tidy Towns’ group also honoured for their Waste Minimisation Project and for the upkeep of Haggardstown Old Graveyard. A number of local business premises also picked up shop front awards.
There was also plenty of success for Carlingford, who picked up the Adjudicators’ Award and who were runners up in the Waste Minimisation Project. Gerry McGarrity of Carlingford Tidy Towns was also named Environmentalist of the Year for his effort over the course of 30 years while St Oliver’s Park in Carlingford won Best Overall Housing Estate in Louth.
