Blue skies predicted for Easter weekend

Blue skies predicted for Easter weekend

We’re in for a fantastic long weekend of weather with temperatures hitting 18°C and blue skies all round.

That’s the verdict of Louth Weather in their latest forecast for the week ahead.

While the week will be wet, dull and cloudy to begin, things are set to improve heading into Good Friday and remain that way across the Easter weekend.

The forecast in full reads as follows: “BACKGROUND: A blocking area of high pressure over Scandinavia should prevent most of The Atlantic influence reaching us this week. Pressure will gradually rise from its current reading of 1010hPa up to 1032hPa by the weekend, so we will see our weather improve and become more settled as the week progresses. Today we see associated fronts from a depression off Ireland’s west coast come to a halt over us (as I outlined in last Monday’s forecast).

“MONDAY: Cold, windy and wet at times. Rain on and off throughout the day. Fresh SE winds making it feel cooler than the maximum of 8°C. More rain due tonight. Minimum 7°C.

“TUESDAY: Wet to begin but this rain should clear by mid morning. The rest of the day will be cloudy but mostly dry. Moderate SE winds. Still cold at only 9°C.

“WEDNESDAY: Cloudy but dry. SE winds easing. Milder at 12°C.

“THURSDAY: Cloudy but dry. Moderate SE winds. Temperatures up again at 14°C.

“FRIDAY: Hopefully we’ll see more sunshine and as a result we should see temperatures up to 16°C.

“SATURDAY & SUNDAY: Difficult to say at this early stage how much sunshine we will see, but it’s looking good. If the sun breaks through for any prolonged period, we could see temperatures up to 18°C on Saturday afternoon. Light to moderate southerly winds, so an end to the endless easterly winds and feeling milder as a result.

“FOLLOWING WEEK: Very early indications suggest the high will slowly weaken. So still reasonable weather with little or no rain, but not as good as on Saturday.”
