Broadhurst misses out on the medals at Women’s World Boxing Championships
Dundalk boxer Amy Broadhurst has missed out on a medal at the Women’s World Boxing Championships in Russia having lost her bout with Finland’s Mira Potkonen this afternoon.
The lightweight lost 5:0 on points against the Finnish number one seed in Siberia.
This is the second time this year Potkonen has got the better of the 22-year-old from Muirhevnamor having also beaten her in the European Elite semi-final in Madrid in August.
Amy had beaten Poland’s Aneta Rygielska and Germany’s Maya Kleinhams in previous rounds. Victory earlier today would have secured at least a bronze medal.
