Local boxer Amy Broadhurst has been named on the Irish Athletic Boxing Association’s four-strong squad for the European Elite Women’s Championships in Spain.
Boxing begins on August 24th in Madrid.
Dundalk southpaw Amy Broadhurst, the current European Under-22 champion, has been named in place of World Elite lightweight champion Kellie Harrington who is nursing a hand injury.
The other four members of the squad are Cork’s Christina Desmond, Cavan’s Ceire Smith and Castlerea’s Aoife O’Rourke.
Reacting to her selection on Twitter this week, Amy said: “It’s been a long time waiting to announce this!!
