Confirmed: Louth voters to go to the polls on February 26th
It’s official, the General Election will take place on Friday February 26th.
For the people of the Louth/East Meath constituency that means they will be going to the polls to elect at least one new TD following the retirement of Fianna Fáil’s Seamus Kirk.
In total 16 candidates will be running in Louth with each of the main parties running two candidates each.
Sitting TDs Gerry Adams, Fergus O’Dowd, Ged Nash and Peter Fitzpatrick will all be looking to retain their seats while Emma Coffey, Mary Moran, Imelda Munster and Maeve Yore will be looking to create history by becoming the constituency’s first ever female TD.
