Council propose to close Market Street for Carlingford Oyster Festival

Louth County Council have unveiled plans to close Market Street in Carlingford to vehicular traffic for five days this August to accommodate the Carlingford Oyster Festival.

It is proposed to close Market Street from its junction at Taaffe’s Castle to its junction with Dundalk Street. The closure would be in effect from Thursday August 9th to Monday August 13th inclusive.

Local access for residents will be facilitated as much as possible during the period of closure.

Pedestrian access shall be maintained during the period of closure.

Local diversions will be in place and will be signposted.

Submissions on the matter are welcome to Mr Keith Hanratty, Senior Executive Officer, Operations, Louth County Council, Dundalk, Co Louth not later than 4.30pm on Wednesday July 25th.
