Doyle welcomes commencement of works on footpath on Rock Road in Blackrock
Local Councillor Maria Doyle has welcomed the commencement of works on a new footpath on the Rock Road in Blackrock.
Phase one of the works, which will see a path constructed from Sandy Lane to the Old Graveyard on the Old Golf Links Road began yesterday.
Cllr Doyle said she would continue to work with the relevant parties to ensure that there was a footpath the length of the Rock Road in the long term.
Writing on Facebook, she said: “Great to see work begin on the Rock Road Footpath project that I have been working on for the past two years in collaboration with Blackrock Tidy Towns.
“The work that started is Phase 1, which will see the construction of a footpath from Sandy Lane to the Old Graveyard on the Old Golf Links Road.
“I am committed to delivering on getting a footpath along the entirety of the Rock Road. I will continue to work with Blackrock Tidy Towns and Louth County Council to do whatever we can to see this happen. I greatly appreciate the assistance of the Infrastructure Dept of Louth County Council on this project.”
