Doyle welcomes new yellow box outside Dundalk IT
Local Councillor Maria Doyle has welcomed the painting of a new yellow box outside Dundalk Institute of Technology on the Dublin Road.
The Fine Gael representative had raised the matter with the local authority after receiving complaints about congestion at the traffic lights.
The new yellow box has been installed in the last few days and Cllr Doyle said she hoped it would help cut down on traffic problems in the area.
She said: “I’d like to welcome to newly painted yellow box outside DkIT on the Dublin Road.
“At last week’s meeting of the Dundalk Municipal District Committee, I asked for a yellow box to be painted at the main entrance of the college after having received representations regarding congestion at the traffic lights which often prevented motorists exiting and entering the college on a green light.
“I hope the this new measure will alleviate the problem. I’d like to thank the Council for getting it done so quickly,” she said.
