Dundalk FC leave it late once again to see off Pat’s
Dundalk FC left it late once again to claim a 1-0 victory over St Patrick’s Athletic at Oriel Park last night.
A 90th minute goal from Sean Hoare proved the difference between the sides as Vinny Perth’s men maintained their lead on goal difference over Shamrock Rovers at the top of the table.
It looked like being a frustrating night for the Lilywhites until an attempted clearance from a corner was charged down by Hoare to deflect to the net.
The game had few clear cut chances prior to that with Sean Murray going closest for Dundalk with a first half free kick while Michael Drennan had a couple of efforts blocked to cause an upset.
Next up for Dundalk is the visit of UCD to Oriel Park on Monday in the EA Sports Cup.
