Dundalk FC move back to the top of the table
Dundalk FC moved back to the top of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division table with a 3-1 win away to Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds last night.
Stephen Kenny’s side took the lead on 17 minutes when Patrick Hoban headed home from a Jamie McGrath cross.
McGrath was then involved in the second on 26 minutes. His corner was headed in by Brian Gartland with Robbie Benson pouncing to apply the finish from close range.
Bottom side Bray were thrown a lifeline three minutes into the second half when Jake Kelly seized on a short back pass from Chris Shields to round Gary Rogers and make it 2-1.
Dundalk ensured the three points 15 minutes from the end when substitute Dylan Connolly finished at the back post from Hoban’s cross.
The Lilywhites now travel to The Showgrounds on Monday night to take on Sligo Rovers.
