Dundalk FC striker Hoban to auction four goal match ball for a local cause

Dundalk FC striker Patrick Hoban has generously offered to auction the match ball from Monday night’s 6-1 EA Sports Cup semi-final win over Bohemian FC at Oriel Park in aid of a local children’s charity or child in need.

The 28-year-old scored four goals on the night, including a hat-trick in the space of 10 minutes, as Vinny Perth’s side booked their place in the final against Derry City at the Brandywell on Saturday September 14th.

The signed match ball will now be sold to benefit someone in need.

Taking to Twitter last night, Hoban said: “I would like to auction the ball I received from last night’s game. ⚽ In conjunction with the brilliant fundraising the club are doing with @Temple_Street, I would like to donate the money raised to a local children’s charity or child in need of medical care.

“Please comment below, share or bring to my attention a chosen project locally and I will select before we start the auction. Thanks in advance for all your wonderful support.”

Further details will follow on the chosen cause as well as information on how to bid for the match ball.
