Dundalk FC win eighth game in a row against Derry
Dundalk FC made it eight league wins in-a-row with a comfortable 4-0 victory away to Derry City at the Brandywell last night.
After an end to end first half of few chances, Stephen Kenny’s side hit the front four minutes before half-time when Robbie Benson (pictured above) squeezed a shot past Gerard Doherty.
The visitors then doubled their lead on 62 minutes when Dylan Connolly fired home after a Pat Hoban header came back off the crossbar.
Hoban would get on the scoresheet himself 11 minutes later when he notched his 19th of the season after a shot from Jamie McGrath deflected kindly into his path.
Michael Duffy then completed the scoring nine minutes from the end with a superb finish from wide on the left.
The league takes a break now with Dundalk facing a crunch clash against league leaders Cork City at Oriel Park in their next outing on Friday June 29th.
