Dundalk house prices continue to fall
The average price of a house in Dundalk fell yet again in April.
The latest Residential Property Price Index from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) shows that the mean house price in the town now stands at €208,155 – a fall of 0.2% from €208,597 in March.
The latest fall follows on from a 1.2% fall in March with house prices in the town now almost €3,000 on average cheaper than when they stood at €211,033 in February.
Despite this prices were up €6,665 on April 2018 when the mean price of a house stood at €201,490. This represents a year on year increase of 3.3%.
Meanwhile prices in Louth as a whole jumped 0.4% from €213,836 to €214,591. Despite this slight increase, it remained behind the €215,838 it stood at in February.
The rise in the county was influenced by an increase in Drogheda where house prices rose by 0.3% from €245,586 to €246,239
The median asking price in Dundalk also fell yet again from €205,000 to €201,635. Meanwhile in Drogheda it was unchanged at €245,000 while in Louth it fell from €207,750 to €206,086.
