Dundalk man’s debut novel re-released
‘A Mad and Wonderful Thing’, the debut novel by Dundalk man Mark Mulholland was republished and re-released last week.
The new edition is focused on pushing the locally-based novel to a UK audience with things getting off to a great start as the respected Blackwell’s of London have made it their independent Book of the Month.
Commenting on the re-release, Mark – who formerly ran The Beerkeeper pub in Park Street before relocating to France a decade ago – told Talk of the Town: “The new presentation is great. I love it and for some reason it reads easier and better.”
It emerged early last year that Parallel Films had been hoping to turn the book into a movie and it is understood that this is progressing with initial work on ‘A Mad and Wonderful Thing’ to commence soon.
Set amongst the streetscape and hinterland of Dundalk, A Mad and Wonderful Thing is a story about cause, about why we do the things we do, about motivations and conflicts, about choices and costs.
