Dundalk Musical Society bring The Addams Family to the stage this week
Dundalk Musical Society will bring The Addams Family musical to life on the stage of An Táin Arts Centre this week.
The show gets underway this Wednesday night and runs until Sunday October 14th at 8pm nightly. The family friendly show features a chorus of over 40 singers.
The cast is made up of Paudie Breen (Gomez), Carol McCourt (Morticia), PJ Dunne (Pugsley), Hannah Mullen (Wednesday), Gerry O’Hara (Fester), Marie McSorley (Grandma), Andrew Sansom (Lurch), Brian Halpin (Mal), Karyn McCooey (Alice) and Alan Doherty (Lucas).
The Addams Family features an original story that is every father’s worst nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. A man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia.
Direction is by Bernard Lynch, choreography by Lea Carroll, musical direction by Ronan Dennedy and Ann McCabe returns as chorus mistress. Niall McCooey as stage manager will lead the stage crew and transform An Táin Arts Centre into the Addams Family Mansion, while Phyllis Woods and Maria Waring take care of wardrobe and will kit out the cast in fabulous costumes.
Tickets, priced €16 (€12 for Wednesday), are on sale now at www.antain.ie
