Dundalk Rugby Club to hold memorial for Caroline Gray this Saturday

Dundalk Rugby Club are hosting a memorial event in memory of the late Caroline Gray at the Mill Road venue this Saturday February 16th.

The Marlmount woman, wife of first team player Johnny, passed away last September following an illness.

Mum to Alex and Georgia, she was described as a “very special member of our rugby club family” by the club.

They said: “It is fitting that we would come together to honour and remember her in a personal and special manner.”

The club added: “We plan to hold a sponsors lunch in advance of the 1st and 2nd XV Leinster League Games v Bective Rangers followed by an auction of specially commissioned jerseys which will be worn by the players during the game in Caroline’s memory followed by a social evening of music and dancing. The proceeds of the evening will be presented to a charity of Johnny’s choice.

“We want especially to make this a very special occasion for our Dundalk RFC Ladies, mums, wives, girlfriends, sponsors, members and friends to celebrate Caroline’s wonderful presence amongst us during her life.

The specially commissioned jersey which the Dundalk team will wear on Saturday. It will then be auctioned after the game in aid of Breast Cancer Research
