Dundalk schools come together to hold climate strike protest this Friday
A team of transition year and fifth year students from a number of schools around Dundalk will come together in the Market Square this Friday to hold a school climate strike.
The protest will take place at the Square from 1pm to 3pm on the day.
It has been organised as part of the global “Fridays for Future” Campaign, initiated by Greta Thunberg, a Swedish 16 year old activist, to combat government inaction on climate change.
Commenting on the event, De La Salle student Donnchadh Hughes told Talk of the Town: “We have taken it upon ourselves to hold the second protest of its kind in Dundalk in recent times, following on from one held in March of this year.
“There will be numerous similar events held across the country this Friday.
