Dundalk Stadium to host Bar One Racing Irish Sprint Cup final next Wednesday

The final of Ireland’s only Sprint Classic, The Bar One Racing Irish Sprint Cup will take place on the evening of Wednesday 15th August at Dundalk Stadium where the top six sprinters in Ireland go to traps to compete for a prize fund of €35,000 with a winner’s purse of €20,000.

Barney O’Hare, Managing Director of Bar One Racing said: “The Sprint Cup is shaping up to be an exciting contest with the top Sprinter’s in the country still vying for the €35,000 prize fund and I look forward to seeing who remains to contest the title.”

The evening’s programme of greyhound racing promises to be a great night with doors opening at 5.30pm to the sounds of the Casino Dixieland Jazz Band with kids entertainment and a goodie bag for all children attending.  After the excitement of the Bar One Racing Irish Sprint Cup Final 2018; one can dance the night away to Sugartown Road.

Emma Meehan, Sales & Marketing Manager for Dundalk Stadium said: “The Bar One Racing Irish Sprint Cup is Ireland’s only Sprint Classic event and one of the highlights of our racing calendar.  We are very grateful to Bar One Racing for their ongoing support of Dundalk Stadium.  We hope that the programme of kids’ entertainment gives mum and dad an opportunity to bring the little ones along to enjoy a family night out ahead of the summer ending.  We are delighted that Patience Jumbo Gula will be attending the meeting with her family as guests of Dundalk Stadium in light of Dundalk Stadium’s sponsorship of Patience in May 2018.  Patience will have her silver medal to hand if any budding athletes or sports fans wish to have their photo taken with a very talented local athlete.”

Kids’ entertainment is free and available from 5.30pm with kids under 14 enjoying free admission, there is also a chance to win a family holiday of an overnight stay in the D Hotel, Drogheda with a family pass to Tayto Park. Champion’s restaurant offers a restaurant package for the evening of Wednesday 15th August for €30pp!

Dundalk Stadium opens its doors again on the evening of Friday 17th August for a programme of horse racing from 5.45pm featuring the Bar One Racing Mourne Handicap and the Irish Stallion Farms EBF ‘Red God’ Handicap leading to greyhound racing thereafter.  The evening doesn’t end there as the band ‘Long Time Coming’ entertain on the evening of August 17th!
