Extension including student accommodation planned for Niall Clarke Oils on the Dublin Road
An extension has been planned for the Topaz Service Station on the Dublin Road in Dundalk which would see it feature a sit down area and student accommodation overhead.
The filling station operated by Niall Clarke Oils, which is set to rebrand to Circle K shortly, is one of the busiest in the town.
Now its owners are planning to partly demolish the existing store in the hope of building a ground floor extension measuring 114sqm to the existing shop. This will be used as a sit down deli, food preparation and storage area.
As part of the planning application submitted to Louth County Council, they have also proposed to change part of the existing first floor area from commercial storage to student accommodation. This would comprise of five bedrooms with a communal kitchen/living area and ancillary facilities.
There would also be new external access to the first floor and associated site development works.
A decision on the matter will be made by August 30th.
