Extension to Sherry FitzGerald Carroll premises remains a possibility
Plans for a major extension to the offices of the Sherry FitzGerald Carroll estate agents’ premises in Dundalk remain in the pipeline.
In 2013 owner Jim Carroll was given the go ahead by Dundalk Town Council for a two storey extension to the building on the corner of Stapleton Drive and Dublin Street. This included the change of use of the existing ground floor office area to retail, alterations to the existing Stapleton Drive and Dublin Street elevation to include new shop fronts and all associated site works.
The application coincided at the time with the revamp of the Dundalk Shopping Centre but work never progressed.
Now Mr Carroll has applied for an extension to the duration of the planning permission, which would give him another five years to commence works.
A decision on the matter by Louth County Council will be made by September 5th.
