Fairways developers plan to extend hotel to 113 bedrooms
The developers of The Fairways Hotel plan to extend the size of the facility, bringing the total number of rooms up to 113.
East Coast Catering Ireland were given the go ahead in December 2017 to redevelop the Dublin Road hotel with 102 bedrooms in total.
Work has been ongoing on the hotel for some time since the completion of the new retail element of the site which houses SuperValu, Costa Coffee and McCormack’s Pharmacy.
Now the developments have submitted an application to Louth County Council to retain an extension to the three storey southern bedroom wing of the hotel which is currently under construction.
According to their application: “The extension provides for 11 additional bedrooms at 2 & 3 stories increasing the total bedrooms in the hotel to 113.
“The proposed development will also provide for all associated site development works including, additional car parking; additional bicycle parking; alterations to ground levels; open space, landscaping and boundary treatments; public lighting and services.”
As well as the ongoing work on the hotel, which is hoped to be complete later this year, there is also planning permission in place on site for 40 new houses and eight apartments.
A decision on the proposed extension will be made on April 1st.
