Fianna Fáil select North Louth team for Local Elections 2019
Fianna Fail held their North Louth convention ahead of next year’s Local Elections last night as they lined up their team for next year’s polls.
Sitting Councillor Conor Keelan was selected to run for the party in the Dundalk/Carlingford area while his colleagues Cllr Emma Coffey and Liam Reilly were selected to run in Dundalk South.
Last week Fintan Malone and John Sheridan were selected to run in the Mid-Louth area while the previous week Anthony Moore and James Byrne were selected to run in Drogheda with Richard Cooney in Drogheda Rural.
While not formally announced, the fact that sitting Councillor Peter Savage was not put forward at Convention suggests he is set to step down from politics when the election takes place next May. The Greenore was first elected to the council in 1974 and has served as chairman five times.
