Former casino on Park Street could reopen as offices
The former Emerald Casino premises on Park Street could be set to reopen as offices.
William Baldwin has submitted a planning application to Louth County Council seeking to change the use of the premises at 16 Park Street from a private members club to office use.
The three storey over basement premises has been lying idle in recent years since the closure of the casino.
It was placed up for auction last summer with a guide price of €535,000 but failed to attract any bids.
Given it offers 4,908sq ft of floor space as well as external parking to the rear, the premises could be much more valuable if opened as office space.
Formerly a Bank of Ireland branch, the building dates from circa 1845 and was remodelled in 1930.
A decision on the change of use application will be made by October 3rd.
