Four local schools and community groups to receive funding from CLÁR programme
Four community groups and schools in Co Louth are set to benefit from new Government funding through the CLÁR programme.
Amongst the beneficiaries are:
- Bush Post Primary School – €50,000 (pictured above): For construction of footpaths, provision of a bus shelter, speed safety signs, road markings, public lighting and speed ramps
- Cooley Community Enterprises Ltd – €7,087: For upgrading of pathway/footpath and retaining wall
- Jenkinstown Project Committee – €30,000: For construction of access footpaths to link local amenities
- Mullaghbuoy National School – €17,550: For construction of footpath and railings.
The latest round of funding under the CLÁR Programme is being allocated for safety measures in schools and community groups.
News of the funding was welcomed by local TD Peter Fitzpatrick.
He said: “The funding under this latest round of the Clár Programme will allow for the installation of safety measures such as pedestrian crossings, flashing lights and speed indicators in villages and adjacent to schools and community facilities. These measures will help to keep not only our children, but all those who live in CLÁR areas, safe which is very welcome.”
