Gardaí investigating hoax call which claimed there was a bomb in the hospital
Gardaí are investigating a hoax bomb call which occurred in the area last week.
Gardaí in Dundalk received a call from a public phone box on Thursday March 7th at approximately 12.50pm saying that there was a bomb in the hospital.
Armed support units were sent to both the Louth County Hospital on the Dublin Road and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda but they quickly determined the call to be a hoax.
Gardaí are currently reviewing CCTV footage as part of their investigation but have appealed for anyone with information on the hoax call to contact them at Dundalk Garda Station on 042 9335577 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
