Gathering Heritage Project is looking for your stories
The next phase of the Gathering Heritage Project was launched in the Louth County Library in Dundalk recently.
A local audience gathered to hear about how the oral histories project has been granted funding by Creative Ireland for 2019.
The project will digitally capture the stories of interesting lives for the first time to share online on platforms such as iTunes and Spotify.
“Having sought funding for five years we are delighted to finally get funding from Creative Ireland to secure about 30 interviews from Louth,” said Project Co-ordinator Jason McGee.
“We are now looking for people who have lived epic lives to tell us their story so we can share it with the World.”
The recordings will be captured by well known presenter Harry Lee (pictured above) and will then be mastered and uploaded to the www.gatheringheritage.com website.
Snippets of the recordings will also be made into short videos and uploaded to YouTube along with photos of the era.
The ultimate goal of the project is to create cartoon series based on the recordings and interest from major Irish and UK TV companies has previously been expressed.
