Girls only computing camps at Dundalk IT this summer
Dundalk IT will be holding their Girls Only Computing Camps once again this summer, as well as several others that would be of benefit to the coders of tomorrow.
The camps will run in June and early July with enrolment now underway.
Dr Philip Scanlon of DkIT outlined to Talk of the Town what the camps will entail: “This year we are introducing a number of new camps – including two girls only camps App Camp 4 Girls and Girls Make Games – as well as our previous offering: Animation, Exploring ICT and High Tech ICT.
“This summer we will also run a taster Camp High Tech ICT for TY for anyone considering Computing as a 3rd level option who didn’t make it to the January or May Camps.
“Camps will run in June and early July. Registration is now open on the webpage and we encourage anyone interested to apply early, as the number of places for each camp is limited to 20 participants.”
You can sign up for the summer camps at http://summer.comp.dkit.ie/
Philip added: “Computing@DkIT Camps have proven very popular over the last number of years and have introduced students to a wide and varied collection of ICT topics. Some previous participants have commented that attending the camps helped them in deciding whether to undertake ICT for their Leaving Certificate (if available) or as a 3rd level option. As we are continually updating camp content, previous participants will find something new should they wish to return this summer.”
