A new variety retail store is set to open in Dundalk.

Homesavers are set to open in the town in the coming weeks with hiring now underway for a new store manager.

The homeware chain announced in April they were investing an additional €10 million into its business as part of a bid to become a nationwide retail.

At the time the company which is headed up by former Iceland Ireland chief executive Tom Keogh, spoke of plans to open more than 20 stores this year and trebling its workforce to 1,200.

Now Homesavers, which most recently opened in Tallaght and Limerick, is planning to open in Dundalk, Drogheda and Monaghan.

An exact location for the new store has yet to be revealed.
