Jinx Lennon to launch new album in Dundalk later this month

Local singer/songwriter Jinx Lennon will be launching his new album ‘Grow A Pair!!!’ later this month.

The album launch will take place in The Spirit Store on Friday April 27th. The show will form part of a promotional tour for the album which will conclude at The Body and Soul Festival in Co Westmeath at the end of June.

A blurb for the album reads: “Jinx Lennon punk poet aka guitar=magic wand wielder from the North Pale Wastelands launches new album GROW A PAIR !!! introducing the border cosmic schizo folk sound. When a bit of struggle happens it cuts through the crap and all you’re left with is a couple of guitars, a bass drum ,and some delay immersed caveman grunts to entice the smoking section. A return to proper singalong folk from the borderlands with its own raw shape where roads that look like capillaries leading you into the unknown and concrete jungles bring forth 50 000 psychedelic  tales of destiny and dread. Songs that speak about modern life but could have been written 100 years ago that encourage you all to push back against the fear mentality and GROW A PAIR!!!”

Amongst Jinx’s special guests for the album launch are local musician Uileann piper Conall Duffy, who plays on his track ‘The GPO’ and Sharon McArdle who added some magical harp to the track ‘Newry Bird’.

The other acts on the night will be Acoustic Dan, a hi-octane performer who sings songs about Belfast infused with the spirit of Woody Guthrie and Joe Stummer and Post Punk Podge and The Technohippies Limerick anarchists drawing their muse from the murky side of politics.

Once released, ‘Grow A Pair!!!’ will be available from Classified Records, Blade FX Barbers, Tower Records in Dublin, iTunes, Bandcamp and other online outlets. Tickets for the album launch, priced €12, are available now from The Spirit Store, McAteer’s The Food House or online at
