Kelly hat-trick makes it a very Good Friday for Dundalk

Daniel Kelly scored a hat-trick as Dundalk ran out 3-0 winners over Finn Harps at Oriel Park last night.

The first half was disrupted by injuries to Brian Gartland and visiting goalkeeper Ciaran Gallagher that resulted in nine minutes being added at the end of the first half.

It was in the second of these that Dundalk made the breakthrough with Kelly firing a superb left foot shot past Peter Burke following Michael Duffy’s cut back.

The former Bohemian FC winger then doubled his side’s lead two minutes into the second half when he pounced on a loose ball in the box to fire high to the top corner.

Kelly then completed his treble in the 83rd minute when he was picked out by Sean Gannon to fire to the bottom left hand corner.

Next up for Dundalk is a trip to gace UCD at the UCD Bowl at 3pm on Easter Monday.
