Latest homeless figures for Louth see small fall

The number of people registered as homeless in Co Louth fell by 5.6% in August.

That’s according to the latest Homelessness Report from the Department of Housing, Planning & Local Government.

There were 170 people registered as homeless in the county in the period from August 19th to August 25th, down from 180 in July.

This was up significantly however from 125 people who were declared homeless in the county in August 2018. This represented an increase of 36%.

Nationally there were 6,490 adults registered as homeless at the end of August as well as 3,848 dependents.
