Local businesswoman poles her way from Mizen to Malin for charity
A local pole fitness instructor recently poled her way through Ireland on a Mizen to Malin Head Charity walk for Mental Health.
El Fegan, who runs Polercise Dundalk in Williamson’s Mall, took two weeks out of her busy schedule to help raise awareness and much needed funds for the NSRF based in Cork who research into why people self-harm and commit suicide and Mindwise, based in the North, who provide front line services to those who suffer from mental health issues.
El, along with her friend Tracy Gilpin, who has been largely affected by suicide in recent years, set off on their epic challenge on Saturday 26th May and completed it, largely unaided, last Saturday June 9th, covering 369 miles and crossing 14 counties in two weeks.
They have managed to raise over €6,000 between both charities so far. Their charity pages will remain open for another 2 weeks, you can find links and check in on their adventure via their Facebook page ‘Tracy and Els big walk’.
