Local road to be closed for 13 days to facilitate works to new Coláiste Chú Chulainn school

Louth County Council plan to close Bothar an Iarainn for a period of 13 days at the end of this month to facilities the provision of services to the new Coláiste Chú Chulainn school being constructed at the Marshes.

The plan is to close the road to public traffic from 7am on Saturday May 26th to 6pm on Thursday June 7th from its junction with the Marshes Avenue Roundabout to its junction with the St Alphonsus Road roundabout.

Detours for Eastbound traffic will be along Marshes Avenue, Ramparts Lane and St Alphonsus Road while Westbound traffic will be the same route in the opposite direction.

Anyone who wishes to object to the proposal has until 12 noon this Friday to submit their observations to the local authority.

The new school building had been scheduled to be handed over in June but delays have meant this deadline will not be met with a race now on to have it ready for the new school term in September.
