Malone Dance Academy celebrating 15 years in existence

The Malone Dance Academy is celebrating 15 years in existence this year.

The dance class was established by Cheryl Malone in 2004 and has gone from strength to strength ever since at their base on the Coes Road.

Speaking about the landmark, Cheryl said: “My studios have been a labour of love and any one who knows me well, knows that I eat and breath, sweat, blood and tears for my dancers and the studios.

“I have had many personal struggles during the last 15 years that were public and some more private but yet my studio was my constant. It was and continues to be my sanctuary. Something to channel my energy and focus.

“As an ever evolving studio we have had many teachers grace our doors and leave to make their own mark on the world.

“We have also been very lucky to have some wonderful people involved in our studios who truly share my vision and passion so I am super proud that I now get to say we have a team vision.

“I am proud that all my current staff are qualified in the genres they teach and that we push ourselves to complete CPD every year. We invest time and money to be the best teachers possible. This year our teaching team are traveling to Elmhurst Ballet School in Birmingham with selected students for student and teacher training.

“I am so very proud that we offer classes where students can avail of examinations that are academically recognised but we also provide classes solely for fun & to nurture self-confidence 🥰

“I am proud that we are a registered dance school with bbodance and a certified centre with Acrobatic Arts.

“I am proud that I am a Teacher trainer and Examiner for Acrobatic Arts, Canada.

“But mostly I am so proud of every child who has passed through our doors and given it their very best!! I have had some students for 15 years since I started teaching and they are now teachers in my studio. It’s a rare bond and I love them dearly.

“Thank you for 15 years of support,” said Cheryl.
