Motorists advised to be wary of hedgehogs on local roads

Dundalk Tidy Towns have issued an appeal to motorists to watch out for hedgehogs on local roads at present.

The warning came after a hedgehog’s remains was discovered on the Avenue Road in Dundalk earlier today having been struck by a vehicle.

The Tidy Towns’ group said: “Please take care driving hedgehogs are coming out of hibernation at the moment.”

They added it was “heartbreaking to see them killed like this.”
