Murray on the double as Dundalk FC advance in FAI Cup
Ronan Murray scored twice as Dundalk FC seen off Cobh Ramblers 3-0 at Oriel Park last night to advance to the next round of the Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup.
Jamie McGrath was also on target on the night as Stephen Kenny’s side got back to winning ways following their 4-0 Europa League defeat to AEK Larnaca and the 1-0 EA Sports Cup semi-final defeat to Cobh four days earlier.
The breakthrough came in the 32nd minute when Murray turned in Michael Duffy’s cross from about three yards out.
McGrath then doubled the lead seven minutes into the second half when he tucked home a Dean Jarvis cross.
Murray then ensured the win with his second five minutes from the end when he finished from Sean Gannon’s delivery.
