New Louth Rose to be crowned this weekend
A new Louth Rose will be crowned this weekend.
The Louth Rose Selection Night takes place this Sunday from 7.30pm in The Four Seasons Hotel in Carlingford.
The winning representative, who will replace Cooley’s Megan Ferguson as the Louth Rose, will go forward to compete in the Rose of Tralee International Festival from August 16th to 22nd, with the hope of becoming the first ever representative from the Wee County to claim the Rose of Tralee title.
This year’s selection event is taking place later than normal due to a change in format to the contest last year where the Roses automatically go to Tralee. Megan Ferguson was the first Louth Rose to automatically advance to the weekend in Co Kerry with her predecessor Jenny Hanlon having to compete in a regional qualifier event in Portlaoise.
Once in Tralee a selection event will take place to determine the 32 roes who make the TV part of the show on Monday and Tuesday August 21st and 22nd.
All are welcome along to the Four Seasons Hotel on Sunday to cheer on the budding Roses.
