New seafood trail to be developed in Co Louth
A new tourism initiative is being developed to showcase Louth’s picturesque coastline and local seafood offering in order to increase footfall into our restaurants and eateries and enhance the visitor experience in the county.
This initiative is the first of its kind in the county and provides an excellent opportunity for the food trade and tourism sector to work together.
An information session will take place from 9.45am until 12.30pm on Wednesday October 30th in the Monasterboice Inn and restaurateurs, chefs, hoteliers and marketing managers are invited to hear from experts about the development of the trail and its importance for Co Louth.
They will also hear about the benefits for their business of being part of this trail and find out how to get involved. Food Tourism Expert, Burren Food Trail Co-ordinator 2013 – 2016 and Director of The Tourism Space Tina O’Dwyer will be the guest speaker on the day.
This initiative is being driven by Louth County Council in partnership with the Boyne Valley Food Development Officer and Dundalk Tourist Officer, and is supported by Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM) under the Fisheries Local Area Development Scheme (FLAG) for the North East Region.
