Number of items stolen from house in Boyle O’Reilly Terrace

Gardaí are investigating a burglary of a house on Boyle O’Reilly Terrace yesterday evening in which a number of items were stolen.

The Casey family home had several items taken from it shortly after the family raised more than €7,000 for Pieta House as part of a fundraiser to mark the first anniversary of the passing of David Casey.

Paddy Casey took to Facebook to highlight the matter earlier today. He said: “Folks, my parents house was broken into last night in Boyle O’Reilly between 7pm – 7:30pm. A number of bits were stolen;

– Eternity ring
– Engagement ring
– “Dress” ring
– A number of chains/earrings
– A very old ring from Canada, maybe 70/80 years old
– Approx €550 in cash (All from a Pieta House fundraiser)

“It may (or not) just be a coincidence that we raised close to €7,000 for Pieta House last week but the Gardai will do their work initially.

“There is some good CCTV around the street but if anybody seen any people out of the ordinary or a Black Car (A Megane, Clio or Civic) in Boyle O’Reilly or the bottom of St Nicholas Ave last night between 6:30pm & 7:30pm please give me a bell on 0851694607.”
