O’Hanlon takes the win at Patsy Kelly 5k
Local athlete Gary O’Hanlon was the winner of last night’s Patsy Kelly 5k in Dundalk.
The Kilkerley man, who had just completed a personal best at the Berlin half marathon, to win the local race in a time of 00:15:07.
This was seven seconds faster than Eskander Turki in second place. He pipped Tomás Cotter in third by a second with Darragh Greene fourth in a time of 00:15:19.
The first female finisher and 15th overall was Fiona Kehoe in a time of 00:17:27. This was well ahead of the second female finisher, Laura Mathews, who had a time of 00:19:15. Third female home was Donna Mone in a time of 00:19:44.
In total 910 people completed the race, organised by the North East Runners club and Clan na Gael GFC.
The annual event is organised in memory of local athlete Patsy Kelly who died while out running with friends in January 2010.
