Parts of M1 motorway set to close for works on various dates next month
Louth County Council is proposing to close the M1 motorway from Junction 13 Dunleer to Junction 16 Dundalk South on various dates during September and October in order for pavement works to be carried out.
The work would be carried out by the Celtic Roads Group between the hours of 7.30pm and 6.30am each day with any objections to the planned closures having to be submitted to Willie Walsh at Louth County Council by 5pm on Monday August 14th.
The closures and diversion routes will be as follows:
- 1 Section 1 – Northbound from Junction 13 to Junction 15 – 8 nights within the period from September 4th to September 13th/14th from 7.30pm to 6.30am. Diversion will be via R132 (old N1) at Junction 13 to Castlebellingham and the R166 to the M1 at Junction 15.
- 2 Section 2 – Northbound from Junction 15 to 16 – 5 nights within the period 7th September to 20th/21st September from 7.30pm to 6.30am. Diversions onto the N33 at Junction 14 to Ardee and the N52 to Dundalk at Junction 16.
- 3 Section 3 – Southbound from Junction 16 to 15 – 4 nights within the period September 11th to September 26th/27th from 7.30pm to 6.30am. Diversions onto the N52 at Junction 16 to Ardee and the N33 to M1 Junction 14
- 4 Section 4 – Southbound from Junction 15 to 13 – 13 nights within the period September 13th to October 13th/14th from 7.30pm to 6.30am. Diversions onto the R166 at Junction 15 to Castlebellingham and the R132 (old N1) to M1 Junction 13.
Only one diversion will be in place at any one time.
