Perth and Dundalk FC up for RTÉ Sports Awards

Both head coach Vinny Perth and Dundalk FC have been nominated for awards at this Saturday’s RTÉ Sports Awards.

Perth has been nominated for the coveted Manager of the Year award for the first time having guided the Lilywhites to four of the five domestic trophies in his first season in charge at Oriel Park.

Meanwhile, Dundalk FC have also been nominated for Team of the Year – a category they previously won in 2016.

The full list of nominees in each category can be found below. The winners will be announced on Saturday night on RTÉ One.

Meanwhile, Dundalk FC third choice goalkeeper Ross Treacy yesterday departed Oriel Park to join Co Louth neighbours Drogheda Utd.

Sportsperson of the Year nominees: Seamus Callanan, Stephen Cluxton, Niamh Kilkenny, Shane Lowry, Ciara Mageean, Rhys McClenaghan, Denise O’Sullivan, Sanita Puspure, Jason Smyth, Katie Taylor.

Manager of the Year nominees: Mick Bohan, Ross Enamait, Jim Gavin, Cathal Murray, Joseph O’Brien, Vinny Perth, Liam Sheedy.

Team of the Year nominees: Dublin football, Dublin ladies football, Dundalk FC, Galway camogie, Ireland women’s hockey, Irish show jumping, Paul O’Donovan and Fintan McCarthy, Team Tiger Roll, Tipperary hurling.
