Plans for new bureau de change on Clanbrassil Street held up by planning appeal

Plans for a new bureau de change on Clanbrassil Street have been held up by a planning appeal.

Last month Bureau Buttercrane Ltd, who already have an operation in Newry, were granted conditional planning permission by Louth County Council to change the use of Unit 1 86 Clanbrassil Street from a retail to financial services premises. The former Brass Rail premises is located beside Boylesports.

Now an appeal has been lodged with An Bord Pleanála against the decision by Terry Boyle of Dundalk Bureau de Change.

Bureau Buttercrane Ltd is run by the Castlebellingham-based Gildea family.

An Bord Pleanála will decide on the appeal in the coming months.
