Possibility of localised flooding with rain set to continue for 30 hours
A warning has been issued of possible localised flooding in the area by Louth Weather.
In an update in the early hours of this morning, the local weather page said as much as 30mm of rain could fall between now and tomorrow.
Louth Weather also warned of strong gusts of wind later today.
“I’m expecting this rain to continue right through into Thursday. It could last 30 hours and with totals of up to 30mm (higher in hilly areas) we could well see localised flooding.
“In addition it will become increasingly windy overnight. The strongest winds will be from about midday to 7pm Wednesday with peak gusts up to 80kph during this period. Given that they will be from the SE, coastal areas will feel the full force of them. Thankfully high tide is outside the above time frame and is not particularly high at 4.5m.
